YuYu Hakusho is an anime which was around the year 2003-2005 it brings me back memories and the nostalgia to watch anime when i was younger. I still remember the time when i would sit in front of the television while munching on chips and watch this anime on Animax. YuYuHakusho is not as famous as Dragon Ball but I prefer YuYuHakusho more than Dragon Ball well to be honest that is just my preference. Some of you Dragon Ball fan boys out there please do not send me death threats.
YuYu Hakusho is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshiro Togashi. The series starts and tells the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a normal teenage boy who is struck by a car while trying to save a child's life.He sacrificed his life just to save a young girl who did not see the car while crossing the road.While in the after life, he is named the Spirit Detective by Koenma and Botan, and must investigate cases concerning demons and apparitions. Yusuke travels with his friends Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei the other protagonist of the story. As the series progresses , the series starts away from a detective story to a more fighting oriented story. To be honest just by writing about YuYu Hakusho makes me feel old and want to travel back to the past...
Well Yusuke, 14 years of age , is about as troublesome and violent as teenagers come. He is constantly ditching school, causing troubles and getting into numerous fights everyday. One day however, he does the unexpected , sacrificing himself to save a young child.Such an action, was never expected,sacrificing himself to save a young child you do not even know.Such an action ,was never expected especially coming from someone as troublesome and brutal as Yusuke Urameshi.The afterlife is not prepared for Yusuke,as they never thought he would make such a sacrifice. Nowhere to go, and dead, Yusuke becomes a ghost and must earn his way back into existence.Yusuke is ''employed'' by Koenma,who is in charge while his father and ruler of the afterlife King Enma is away. Under Koenma's command,Yusuke helps to stop menacing demons that threaten the lives of people everywhere; whether by stealing priceless and invaluable items and destructive weapons, or by wrecking havoc on humans everywhere.
Throughout Yusuke's journey, he is usually joined by ; his arch-rival and local bully,Kuwabara Kazuma. He is also joined by two demons named Hiei and Kurama, whom are ex-convicts of the afterlife that managed to escape from Koenma.
This group of unlikely allies goes on to participate and struggle in battles that have outcomes the fate of humanity!
YuYu Hakusho is created by a popular mangaka, Yoshiro Togashi, who is also responsible for creating the acclaimed and much-loved series known as Hunter X Hunter. Yu Yu Hakusho also managed to surpass Dragon Ball Z in ratings during its TV run.
CHARACTERS
Those are the main characters who helped Yusuke fight against demons.But the best character in my opinion is of course Yusuke who has the characteristics of a fighter. Yusuke also has a soft spot in him in which he sacrificed himself just to save a young girl. He is also a brave and a strong person and always try to achieve something that he wants. Compared to Dragon Ball this series is more intriguing the reason being is Dragon Ball is always about fighting and fighting and finding the dragon balls but in this series it shows how a person should be and how a real life situation can be.

All in all, I think YuYu Hakusho is worth watching and if you have never watch it before you should try it now. Old animes are better than the new ones i can assure you.YuYu Hakusho also includes some moral values in the series that we can adapt in our daily life and honestly this anime actually managed to touch my heart and it can really affect my feelings when i watch it. YuYu Hakusho is yet one of the best anime i have watched my entire life and i wouldn't mind watching it again in the future.
Thus I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS ANIME FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCH IT YET!!!
